Aficionados x Fine Drams Lot 73 a very old Cognac from Jean-Luc Pasquet. Distilled from grapes grown in the Petite Champagne region and bottled at natural cask strength, this bottling performs admirably at its 50.3% ABV. Displaying rich notes of toffee, tobacco, Concord grape and nutty sweetness, this bottling was a great example of oak and fruit, with neither in excess. Selected blind via a panel from the Aficionados Discord server, this cask was a stunner when compared to offerings both from JLP and other cognac producers.
