XXX/Four is a South Pacific rum hailing from Fiji. Distilled at South Pacific using a pot still and molasses, XXX/Four was aged in the Philippines from 2004 to 2016. In 2016, the rum was shipped to England and rebarreled to finish aging in American Oak Cask #3 for 4 years. Bottled on January 8th, 2020 at 66.8% ABV this rum yielded 214 bottles. All XXX rums are bottled without filtering, coloring, additives or dilution of any kind. Selected via blind tasting with a panel of tasters from r/Rum and Aficionados.
XXX/Four is very representative of excellent Fiji style rum, demonstrating bright fruits on the nose, such as strawberry, orange, mango and citrus. Tobacco, molasses and toffee round out a rich palate along with moderate oak structure. A long, sweet finish brings toasted coconut, allspice and candied orange peel to mind before whisping cleanly away.
